The Telangana State Government and MA&UD is committed to professionalizing urban management, rendering support to Urban Local Bodies and Government Departments in partnership with institutes of eminence.

In view of the above, Government of Telangana has enacted new Municipalities Act “Telangana Municipalities Act 2019” to improve compliance with laws by citizens, increase accountability among officials, eliminate corrupt practices with an overall aim of delivering effective services to people living in urban areas of the State by consolidating and providing for the constitution of Municipalities in accordance with part IX-A of the Indian Constitution. This act also undertakes random audits and any citizen or official deviating from the rules will be penalized.

Considering the rate of growth of building activity in Telangana State, there is an immediate need to build additional capacity, improve processing efficiency and scale to the growing needs of citizens of the state. In view of the above, Government of Telangana in tune with the Telangana Municipalities Act, 2019  implementing different reforms points under GO.MS.no 168 Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department – Telangana Building Rules,2012 – Orders – Issued dated- 07.04.2012 along with Subsequent amendment stated under TS-bPASS 2020 of Act.No.12 of 2020  has launched/introduced a new  system BuildNow, single integrated platform for processing of various permissions required during development of land and construction of buildings through self-certification system. It is also designed to provide the services within stipulated timelines.

To provide citizen-friendly services through the use of Technology, thereby enabling contactless and transparent services leveraging Information Technology. The existing services will be reorganized towards digitization to create new possibilities for their development, and we will continue to collaborate and develop partnerships with different national and international organizations. Building effective best practices will benefit our users and contribute to developing transparent and cost-effective services.

To enhance the IT Infrastructure in MA&UD and simplify the processes for our citizens. Single point contact and transparent & speedy online approvals for building permissions and constructions will help in faster development of the State growth.
